KOENIGSEGG CCX MAKES OFFICIAL UAS DEBUT AT SUPERCAR WEEKEND 2009
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10
Universal Autosports is preparing to announce to its clients and members that it plans to debut the Koenigsegg CCX at the Palm Beach Supercar Weekend. Universal’s Koenigsegg has appeared at numerous events, but this is the first formal presentation of its kind. “We’re happy to announce, in advance, that the Koenigsegg will be making its official Universal Autosports debut at the Palm Beach Supercar Weekend,” said President, Giacomo Ciaccia. “We’ve brought it to several other places, but to premeditate its inauguration at the Supercar Weekend is a no-brainer.”
The CCX, Koenigsegg’s third iteration of its one and only model, is the first edition to be made road legal in the United States. There are only two authorized Koenigsegg dealerships in North America, of which Universal was the first. The Koenigsegg CCX, the brainchild of Swedish entrepreneur Christian von Koenigsegg, hosts a supercharged V8 putting out 806 horsepower and 654 ft. lbs. of torque. Worldwide production is around 25 units, and it’s is the only car in the world to feature dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors that rotate both upward and forward simultaneously. The CCX’s top speed is just north of 240, it crushes the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds and rockets from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.
The CCX is composed mainly of carbon fiber. The car’s dry weight is 2,601 pounds. The CCX is 169 inches long, 78.6 inches wide and is a scant 44.1 inches tall. The removable roof stows under the front bonnet and can be taken off or put in just a few minutes. The CCX can be tuned to run on E85 ethanol – and if said conversion is done, the car will actually put over 900 horsepower! Universal’s CCX is liveried in blue with a blue and cream leather and Alcantara cockpit. But it should be painted green since its 24 highway miles per gallon help it evade a gas guzzler tax. Every CCX has the silhouette of a ghost etched into the rear glass. Find out why at the 2009 Palm Beach Supercar Weekend.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2008
A green supercar that combines history, performance and functionality
A $375,000 prototype coach build will make its North American debut at Supercar Weekend 2009. Supercar Weekend, a platform for new luxury, attracts affluent audiences from around the world who will have the opportunity to place the first orders for the Codatronca. The event serves as a platform for designers and manufacturers to interact with potential customers and clients.
Post war global innovations included the remarkable movement of design oriented cars. Visually stunning designs that have become iconic in the automobile world. Of these original automobile masterpieces include the works of Ercole Spada. Some of his most remarkable designs include the Alfa Romeo TZ1, Alfa Romeo TZ2 Aston Martin DB4 Zagato, BMW E32 and E34 and the Lamborghini GTV. As a progressive designer Spada continues to push the envelope, and upon forging a partnership with son Paolo, the father son duo has created what potentially is the most unique visual excersize to come out of Turin, Italy.
The Codatronca is a revival of the original philosophy that inspired Ercole Spada's past designs. A perfect combination of functional aestetics and racing performance. "Any automobile historian or enthusiast can see that the Codatronca is an ode to the original Alfa Romeo TZ1 and TZ2 designed by Spada," says Scott Levinsohn co-founder of Supercar Weekend. Depending on clients specifications the Codatronca can be ordered with the ability to run on green E85 flex/fuel. In this specification the aluminum V8 is capable of over 630 horsepower and 668 lbs ft of torque which equate to a remarkable 3.4 second 0-100kmh time.

The fourth annual Supercar Weekend, will take place in Palm Beach January 23-25 2009. The main event will be held along the West Palm Beach waterfront where over 500 Supercars along with the Codatronca will be on display for the public Saturday January 24th on Flagler Drive. Supercar Weekend is the worlds largest supercar event and the only one of its kind.
HISTORIC RACE CARS, MEGA YACHTS AND MILLION DOLLAR CONCEPTS DISPLAYED ALONG THE WATERFRONT
January 23-25, 2009

When the term Supercar was first coined in the 1960s it was used to describe the most prestigious designs and engineering advances applied to the common form of transportation, the automobile. Majority of Supercars are hand-made, tailored and designed to push the limits of speed. Often Supercars are not profitable for manufacturers, some examples are valued at over $10 million dollars, and limited quantities are produced, thus many specimens become part of major collections which never see the light of day.

Supercar Weekend carefully selects and invites Supercar owners from around the world to display their automobiles in a unique, prestigious and exciting atmosphere. "We are so excited to bring the event to the public this year, the event originally started as a boutique event tailored to collectors and connoisseurs, has now become a platform for both collectors and luxury purveyors to showcase new technology, designs and prototypes. The event is beyond automobiles it is a celebration of Art, Speed and Design." Said John Temerian of Supercar Weekend. Some of the featured cars that will drape Flagler Drive include the 251 mph Bugatti Veyron, the all new 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom Drop Head Coupe, the classic 1971 Lamborghini Miura, and the historical 1967 Ford J6 Lemans racing car.
Sponsors, affiliates and partners include Rolls Royce North America, Jim Glickenhaus, Supercar Life, DJ Irie, Henrik Fisker, DuPont Registry, Palm Beach Illustrated, and Barclays Real Estate.

Supercar Weekend is an educational experience for all ages to understand and appreciate the passion and visions behind many of the world’s greatest automobiles; significant guests, influential visionaries and historical automobiles, motivate and inspire all. |
